We’re excited to share that we’ve set up a presence on Bookclubs.com which will provide a unified approach to suggesting books, choosing books, rating books, communicating with the group, scheduling meetings, and more. Please make a free account and join our club there! There is a phone app, and it also lets you track your own reading, so it’s pretty handy.
We have discontinued using Meetup.
About Us
Do you like science fiction, reading stories from diverse authors, meeting new people, making friends, and talking about books? Then you’re in the right place!
We read one book each month and then meet in person to discuss it. In addition to our monthly meetings, we also plan ad-hoc events, such as socials and author discussions.
Our monthly meetings take place in downtown Toronto at Cafe Our Hours on Church near Wellesley.
We’ve read a wide selection of books and have been active since March 2023.
How to Join
We use Bookclubs.com to coordinate membership, events, RSVPs, share book selections, and chat. A (free) account is required to see detailed event information. Note that members are expected to have read the book in order to attend the monthly discussion.
We also have a Discord group for general discussion. All are welcome to join – share what you’re reading, get some book suggestions, or just say hi!
Group Guidelines
- All are welcome and there is zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment, bullying, or dominating the conversation.
- Members should be mindful to include everyone in the discussions.
- Differences in opinions are welcome and encouraged, so long as they do not conflict with the above points.
- Books from diverse authors and/or with diverse characters and topics are encouraged.
- Members are expected to read the books in order to attend the discussions.
